ACTION ALERT!!! Cap & Trade really means Cap economic growth & YOU pay

Tomorrow – Friday June 26, 2009 - the House of Representatives will vote on cap-and-trade H.R. 2454. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d111:1:./temp/~bdn387:@@@D&summ2=m&|/bss/111search.html

This is a HUGE energy tax that will cost each family about $2,500 per year. Energy companies will be limited in how much energy they can produce and sell AND be forced to buy "carbon credits" and pass the cost along to consumers. The Wall Street Journal says it would be “the largest tax in American history.”

The effect will be higher prices on everything that is processed or shipped such as food, gasoline, furniture, garden supplies, tires, clothes, electronics and home heating fuel, etc. The government will pick winners and losers in terms of which companies get government funding for energy projects. It will effectively eliminate the free market from energy production and distribution in the U.S. and give control to the government.

ACTION ALERT!!! CRBC Opposes SB 228 - Eliminates spending cap on Colorado State Budget

Why it matters: Governor Ritter and some Democrats want to eliminate the spending cap on the State budget.
Result: The State keeps more of your tax money and spends more on programs without voter consent.

CO Republican Business Coalition says NO to SB228, a Bill to eliminate the 6% annual increase spending limit on the State general fund, as authorized by a vote of the people in the Arveschoug-Bird (A-B) statutory amendment of 1991. Monies would go into the transportation budget, allowing increased spending on other programs, rather than returning to the taxpayers those revenues above the spending limit. SB228 would not increase funding for transportation. Rather, it creates a budgetary shell game, adding funding in one place and taking it away in another, with the only net effect being to increase the general fund, without a vote of the citizens.
